Two long-overdue guests on Unfrozen, Matias Echanove and Rahul Srivastava, founders of the design firm urbz, have written "The Homegrown City: Reclaiming the Metropolis for its Users," examining how, despite the determination of planning orthodoxies to extinguish them, slums, informal settlements, and other unplanned habitats are actually enormous sources of enterprise and vitality.
