Perhaps the most self-indulgent, and yet, possibly the most information-rich episode of Unfrozen to date, “The Desert of the Real” is nearly two hours of Mid-Century Modernism, reflections on aging, capitalist realism, various native and invasive plant species, cradle-to-grave Disney lifestyle developments, and a lot of graying Gen-X shouting at the clouds. Several full-length interstitial tunes are included to break down the mass, without apology. Dan authorized this, because he will only turn 50 once. Behold the mid-centurions, as they make their stand in the hot desert wind…
